About the Author
Dr. Refaat El Attar is a Professor of Engineering Mathematics at the College of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt. He holds a PhD. from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada (1978). He is currently the Chairman of the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Physics at Alexandria College of Engineering (2004- ). He has published several papers and articles in the field of optimization, optimal control and engineering mathematics.

Nice Concise Tutorial

This is a good quick tutorial on the Z-transform. I wanted something that would quickly summarize the basics, this book did that. It isn't long winded with verbage and derivations. It fit the needs I was looking for. I would not recommend this if you are trying to learn about Z-transform without any other background in the topic. For that, I would recommend books by Chi-Tsong Chen.

Concerns the book (not the E-book or kindle version)
In chapter 3 (applications) the solution (page 72) of example page 71 is not good.
The solution of example from page 71 is the repeated solution of the example of page 69 (symmetrical ladder network)
There is no site where I can find a correction.
There are different examples and exercises with answers what is good.
